About K&P

We are kings and priests

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. – Rev 1:6 KJV

Objective: To fulfill the calling of our Lord Jesus Christ by making effective disciples, devoted to following Him and furthering the Kingdom of God.

K&P is a Bible-based church

A truly Bible-based church experience comes first from understanding that this is about Jesus, what His word says, and how we should respond. Lord willing (Ja 4:15) this is what K&P will continually strive to achieve for His kingdom, the Kingdom of God.

Culture

A million different worldviews:

  • Democratic vs Republican vs Libertarian, etc.
  • Baptist vs Reformed vs Hindu vs Muslim vs Jewish, etc.
  • Ford vs Chevy.

The only two worldviews that matter:

  • Biblical worldview vs Secular worldview (1 Jo 5:19)

All worldviews wrap up into one of these two categories. As followers of Jesus Christ, our ROE (Rules of Engagement) in the spiritual fight we find ourselves in (Eph 6:12, 2 Cor 10:3-6) are distilled to the discernment (Rom 12:2, Heb 5:14, Ja 1:5) between these two worldviews.

Food is nourishment and sustainment, for strength.

It is no surprise that the Lord instructs us to seek out the word of God first, this nourishment will sustain and strengthen far longer than that which will only provide for the physical body. Consider these passages:

Matthew 4:4

But he answered and said, It is written (Deut 8:3), Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

1 Peter 2:2

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Hebrews 5:14

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Hosea 4:6

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that though shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Our Conduct…

…in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation

How shall we conduct ourselves? In decency and order, with reverence to our Lord; for it is He who ministers through ordained leadership.

  • 1 Corinthians 14:40 – with decency and in order
  • Psalm 89:7, 119:9 – holy is the Lord, worthy to be revered
  • Matthew 10:20 – it is not me, but the Lord who speaks

Follow the Lord with me (Mt 16:24, Jn 21:18-19, 1 Cor 11:1). He must increase; I must decrease (Jn 3:30). The Lord has called me to shepherd and pastor His flock (Jn 21:15-17, Eph 4:11-12). It is His will I seek (Mt 6:10, 1 Thes 5:18) to execute through the enabling of the Holy Spirit (Mt 10:20, Jn 14:16-18, 26, 1 Jn 2:27). He has charged me with the feeding of His flock; therefore I bear a burden and responsibility (Ja 3:1, 1 Tim 3:1-12, Rom 12:6-8) to ensure that His flock receives biblical nourishment (Mt 4:4, Acts 20:28-31), and that His lambs and sheep are refreshed (Ps 23) accordingly.
